Porthole extrusion is the standard process for the production of extruded profiles. The production of porthole extruded aluminum tubes is limited to certain alloys. In most cases, the standard alloys EN AW-6060 or EN AW-6082 are used. But other – mainly low alloy aluminum materials – are also possible.
Porthole extruded aluminum tubes are often the alternative with low production requirements. For small dimensions, a multichamber die is often used. Compared to seamless extrusion, further advantages arise from differences in the processes. Using specially designed extrusion dies, we produce tubes with larger outer diameters or a higher ratio of outside diameter to wall thickness by extrusion.
As in the case for seamless tubes, porthole extruded aluminum tubes are further processed in a drawing process.
